Wake Up Calls
My passion story started in January 2002 when life came knocking loudly. One night I was awakened by a call in the middle of the night. At that point in my life I had a successful insurance and financial services business. That night, a drunk driver’s car had run through and shattered my office. I arrived to survey the scene and saw one thing clearly. If I had been sitting at my desk, I would have died. Suddenly, I caught a glimpse of my whole life and thought I really should slow down, but I didn’t listen. If fact, I sped up. How could I slow down? There were clients to serve, a new employee to train and goals to meet…and all in an office where everything had to be reconstructed and replaced.
Life knocked again in July. Previously blessed with perfect health, an emergency appendectomy now took me down physically.
I believe this is how it happens. When we don’t listen to life, the volume gets louder.
Have you received a wake up call? Are you ready to reframe it to create something greater?
Perhaps you’ve been living a version of someone else’s life. Or one day you wake up and find that, just like a suit of clothes, your career no longer fits. When I listened to my life, that’s what happened.
You deserve better. Go for the joy now! Let’s get to work!
